LSU is squeezing in as many priority targets in for visits before the NCAA’s Dead Period arrives in August.
The latest visitors comes in the form of 5-star Class of 2019 linebacker Donte Starks.
Starks, who measures up at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, is a top-20 prospect in the country for the 2019 class and the top-rated inside linebacker in the group, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The John Ehret (La.) High School standout is a New Orleans native, but transferred from Mississippi back to Louisiana for his junior season. He received an offer from the Tigers upon his return back to The Boot.
A top-five prospect in the state for 2019, Starks made a visit to LSU for the annual “Boys From The Boot” recruiting function earlier this spring. He has since pieced together a rather impressive offer sheet, which includes Florida State, Michigan, Arkansas, Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee and North Carolina, among many others.
Starks has been open that LSU is his early school. He is being recruited primarily by area recruiter Mickey Joseph as well as defensive analyst Ronnie Wheat.
Even after several new offers poured in for the blue-chip linebacker, Starks detailed why the Tigers are his top choice.
