Cole Freeman had heartfelt words to share with LSU fans.
The Tigers infielder released a thank you note on Twitter on Thursday that says, in part, “I will always cherish the people and the relationships.” It comes two days after LSU’s season ended with a 6-1 loss to Florida in the second game of the College World Series finals in Omaha, Neb. The Gators swept the best-of-three series that decided college baseball’s national championship.
It was clear Freeman understood the weight of the moment after LSU’s loss. There’s a video clip present that shows the senior fighting through tears after the defeat.
By reading the note below, it’s easy to appreciate Freeman’s perspective on how he approached his time within LSU’s baseball program. Freeman closed with a .315 batting average, two home runs and 41 RBIs this season.
