Four-star power forward Galen Alexander is the 14th best small forward in the class of 2017, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound prospect is the second best player in Louisiana.
LSU’s recruiting has fallen off some after that stellar class last year that brought a lot of attention and scrutiny. Jones has focused on a much more basic approach, adding quality players to the roster. They added five three-star prospects this year.
This is the first commitment for Jones’ 2017 class and a big one. He is certainly someone who could provide the Tigers some star power. And LSU was sure to keep him home in Louisiana.
