LSU has it rolling on the recruiting trail as the Tigers picked up another commitment on Saturday in 4-star defensive end Jarell Cherry, SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman has learned.
Cherry is listed at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds and likely will play outside linebacker when he gets to LSU. He’s the No. 7 defensive end prospect in the 2018 class and the No. 192 prospect overall, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
LSU now has 13 commitments in the 2018 class. The Tigers have the No. 4 overall class and are tops in the SEC in the 2018 recruiting cycle.
Ed Orgeron personally recruited Cherry.
“Of course, LSU has a very tough defense, so to get noticed by them and to have an offer from them — it’s a complete blessing. To get it from Coach Orgeron — it was amazing. It’s amazing to know he is leading my recruitment, so it’s really great,” Cherry said last month on his recruitment.
