LSU’s haul of wide receivers in the 2017 class are already impressive, but the team just added a monster pickup for 2018.
Kenan Jones, a 4-star wide receiver from Berwick (La.) High School, committed to the Tigers after landing an offer in July.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder from Louisiana was among the top prospects at LSU’s July prospect camp, where he procured his offer from wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig. Jones has favored LSU since the summertime.
Jones was also among the top performers during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Underclassmen Combine earlier this month in San Antonio.
With the addition of Jones, LSU is up to five commitments in its 2018 class. Jones is the first wide receiver, though, joining three defensive backs: Kelvin Joseph, Caden Sterns and Nadab Joseph, and recently minted linebacker Damonte Clark.
Jones is the third Louisiana prospect in the group.
The Tigers could add up to two more wideouts in their junior class by this time next year.
Jones is rated as the No. 13 overall prospect from The Boot for 2018 and the No. 46 wide receiver in the class. He is currently ranked as the No. 280 overall recruit in the country.
