Signs continue to point toward a change in LSU’s offense.
The Tigers extended an offer to the nation’s No. 5 dual-threat quarterback, Kellen Mond. Mond announced the offer via Twitter late Friday night.
“Blessed to receive an offer from LSU,” the four-star Baylor quarterback commit tweeted.
LSU is Mond’s 15th reported offer.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pound quarterback is the latest dual-threat prospect to pick up an offer from LSU, joining the top Tigers target Lowell Narcisse.
LSU is continuing to try to add more athletic quarterbacks as the offense shifts toward a more spread attack. Class of 2016 signee Lindsey Scott Jr. was the first sign of a changing offense. Additionally, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Cam Cameron is expected to have a greater impact on the offense, more specifically in terms of on-the-field principles and quarterback targets.
Mond is rated as the No. 21 prospect out of Florida, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
