The wait is over.
3-star Thibodaux (La.) defensive back Amik Robertson has finally pulled in his much-anticipated offer from LSU.
The overture comes after an in-home visit from Tigers defensive backs coach Corey Raymond, who made his way to Robertson on Friday morning before a busy weekend of official visitors.
Robertson, a 3-star defensive back and one-time Louisiana Tech commit, is scheduled to officially visit Louisiana Tech this weekend. He also tentatively has plans to head to Oklahoma State and Houston before the end of the month.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder camped at LSU in July and was far and away one of the top performers. He did not leave Baton Rouge with an offer, but spent hours speaking with former LSU head coach Les Miles, then-area recruiter Ed Orgeron and Raymond.
Both sides have remained in touch, culminating in this late offer on Friday afternoon.
LSU holds a commitment from four defensive backs in its 2017 recruiting class: Grant Delpit and JaCoby Stevens, who enrolled in classes earlier this week, and Kary Vincent Jr. and Jontre Kirklin.
The Tigers are hosting 4-star safety Todd Harris for an official visit this weekend, but could be trying to squeeze Robertson into the class, too.
