Add another LSU commit to Nike’s “The Opening” Finals roster.
Mississippi offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles earned a belated invitation to Orgeron on Thursday evening
Charles, a three-star prospect that plays left tackle for Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison, Miss.), is expected to transition to guard when he arrives at LSU.
The 6-foot-5, 314-pounder pledged to the Tigers over Mississippi State last month, largely due to the relationship with LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes and fellow offensive line commit Austin Deculus. He is also a New Orleans native.
Charles is rated as the nation’s No. 23 offensive guard and the Magnolia State’s No. 13 overall prospect, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
The versatile big man will join three of his future teammates in Beaverton, Ore., in July for the Finals, including Deculus, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Tyler Shelvin.
