Three LSU basketball players have been arrested by university police after being caught shooting paintballs at pedestrians.
Per LSUNow.com, Wayde Sims, Galen Alexander and Mayan Kiir were arrested and then released by LSU police on June 16 after it was reported that a person was struck with paintballs on campus near the Music and Dramatic Arts Building.
As a freshman in 2016, Sims averaged 6.5 points while playing 19 minutes per game. Alexander and Kiir are freshmen who will compete for playing time in the upcoming season.
Head coach Will Wade released a statement concerning the players’ arrests.
“I’m aware of the situation and we are dealing with the matter internally. I’m extremely disappointed in these players and the poor judgment they used. This is no way to represent LSU or our basketball program. They have a clear understanding of what our expectations are as a program both on and off the court.”
