Franks is rated as the No. 7 overall prospect out of Florida, per the 247sports composite rankings.. He has a big arm and fits the mold of a pro-style quarterback.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder resembles the body type of former LSU gunslinger Zach Mettenberger, who threw 34 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in two seasons as the starting quarterback in 2012-13.
The Florida native committed to LSU last June after receiving offers from fellow SEC foes Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Tennessee.
