Danny Etling has high praise for LSU’s running backs.
As shared by Tiger Rag, the quarterback said Monday he thinks the runners he plays with right now could be better than any he might call teammates in the NFL. Of course, LSU began the season with big expectations in large part because of a backfield that featured Leonard Fournette.
At 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the SEC, the Tigers struggled to live up to those lofty visions. Still, Fournette and fellow running back Derrius Guice have proven themselves to be dangerous at various times this season. Guice leads LSU with 881 yards and 9 touchdowns on 101 carries this season. Fournette has 803 yards and 8 touchdowns on 117 carries.

LSU will need a strong rushing attack when it hosts Florida on Saturday. The Tigers will look to continue their momentum with interim coach Ed Orgeron — they’ve only lost one game under his leadership — and the Gators will try to keep their SEC East title hopes alive.
You can bet the ground game will be a big part of LSU’s plans.
