After a short stint away from the top, LSU is back.
LSU regained the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class after nabbing commitments from highly-touted prospects Willie Allen and Rashard Lawrence in the past 24 hours.
Allen, a four-star offensive tackle, committed to the Tigers Thursday morning over the likes of Auburn and TCU. He has a chance to earn early playing time on an LSU offensive line that lost both its starting tackles from last season.
Lawrence, a five-star defensive tackle and the No. 2 player in Louisiana, committed to LSU over Ohio State. Lawrence bolsters a LSU defensive line that returns all for starters and now has talented reinforcements in the rotation.
More importantly, LSU is not done yet.
The Tigers remain out in front for the nation’s No. 2 cornerback Kristian Fulton. They are also courting the No. 3 cornerback, Trayvon Mullen, and could very well add a quarterback to its class with Lindsey Scott.
Commitments from two of those three prospects would further cement LSU’s status atop the class rankings.
