LSU safety Jamal Adams posted a respectable 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine a month ago. His 4.56 time ranked ninth among safeties in the 2017 draft.
But Wednesday at the LSU Pro Day, he blew everyone away with a 4.33 time in the 40-yard run.

That doesn’t sound like much of a difference, but at that new time, Adams jumps from ninth to first among safeties in the event. In fact, had he ran a 4.33 time at the combine, it would have been the fastest time by a safety in the last 10 years.
It will be interesting to see how this changes his draft stock. While NFL teams can’t necessarily forget about the 4.56 time, his 4.33 should certainly standout. ESPN LSU beat writer David Ching joked that Adams wasn’t going to run the event again Wednesday.
Believe it or not, Jamal Adams has opted not to run a second 40 after posting that 4.33 on his first try

Even before the new time, all four mock drafts from NFL.com have Adams going in the top 10. NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein has him going the earliest at No. 4 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
