As we continue the countdown until the spring game, LSU’s visitor list continues to shine.
The nation’s No. 1 overall recruit for the Class of 2019, Kayvon Thibodeaux, is scheduled to make his inaugural visit to Baton Rouge for Tuesday’s practice, he informed SEC Country.
Thibodeaux and his family will be in Louisiana for a weeklong visit beginning on Monday. The Thibodeauxs originally hail from Lake Charles, La.
Thibodeaux is a 6-foot-5, 235-pound weakside defensive end from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles. He is the top defensive end in the 2019 recruiting cycle, the top prospect from California and the top overall prospect in the nation among rising juniors, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
LSU’s coaching staff extended an offer to Thibodeaux on Feb. 2, the day after National Signing Day 2017. In the past few weeks, he also has procured offers from Alabama, Florida State and Notre Dame.
Thibodeaux will not be making the trip to LSU alone. He will be joined by two 2018 recruits and teammates. That includes cornerback Joseph Williams and wide receiver Jordan Wood.
The Tigers hold four verbal commitments in their 2019 recruiting class. That includes 5-star Tennessee cornerback Maurice Hampton, 4-star Texas offensive tackle Kenyon Green, 4-star Louisiana cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and 4-star offensive lineman Kardell Thomas.
