BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron revealed Thursday that sophomore wide receiver Jazz Ferguson has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.
Orgeron was asked if Ferguson, who was missing from practice earlier this week, was injured. He stated that Ferguson would not play this weekend, then after some prodding revealed he suspended the wideout for “a violation of team rules.”
Ferguson is the second LSU player to be suspended this week. Freshman offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell was suspended for his arrest on two counts of battery after a fight on Georgia Tech’s campus during LSU’s bye week. Campbell was visiting his brother, who plays for the Yellow Jackets.
Ferguson has two catches for 17 yards this year and has primarily been used as a downfield blocker when he gets on the field.
