There hasn’t been much good news surrounding LSU recently, but the Tigers did get some positive updates on the injury front.
Coach Les Miles confirmed that tight end DeSean Smith and left tackle Jerald Hawkins could return to the field soon after sustaining injuries last weekend.
Smith did not play Saturday night against Arkansas with an unspecified injury after going through pregame warmups. Miles confirmed that the results from Smith’s MRI came back negative.
“It does not appear to be serious at this point,” Miles said. “So we would expect him to get back as soon as he can.”
Hawkins left midway through the game with an ankle injury and was replaced by K.J. Malone. Miles said Hawkins would not practice Monday but that he should be back on the practice field Tuesday.
