LSU’s satellite camps have now reached the Lone Star State.
The Tigers will be featured in the East Houston Elite Football Showcase on Tuesday, June 14 at Galena Park ISD Stadium.
It is the first satellite camp that LSU will participate in outside of the state of Louisiana, and will follow the same camp hosted by Michigan and coach Jim Harbaugh the day before.
Last week during the SEC coaches teleconference, LSU coach Les Miles announced that the team would be involved in multiple in-state camps, including one in Shreveport, La., and two in New Orleans.
Outside of Louisiana, LSU’s biggest alumni base is located in Houston.
Fittingly, the Tigers have successfully recruited that area of Texas and are in the mix for some of the best from Houston again in the Class of 2017.
Class of 2016 safety signee Eric Monroe hailed from the Houston area. As do some of the targets from this year’s class, including Monroe’s teammate and four-star weak-side defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson, four-star safety Grant Delpit and four-star running back Toneil Carter, among many others.
Additionally, five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson is located in Bellaire, Texas, which is not located too far outside of the Houston metro area.
