LSU’s commitments took the field this weekend as Friday night under the lights continued.
The Tigers hold 18 commitments in their 2018 recruiting class and seven in their 2019 group. Members of both classes enjoyed memorable performances.

Here’s what went down during Week 12 —the first week of the playoffs (Nov. 9 – Nov. 11):
Kenan Jones, 4-star WR: Jones made a splash in the first round of the LHSAA playoffs. LSU’s top-ranked wide receiver commit caught 2 passes for 58 yards, including a 47-yard slant that he took to the house. Jones also saw action in the secondary, where he picked off a pass and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown.
Dare Rosenthal, 4-star DL: Rosenthal notched 4 tackles, including 1 for loss, in addition to a sack for a 5-yard loss. Rosenthal also forced and recovered a fumble and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown. He also saw snaps at offensive tackle.
Dantrieze Scott, 3-star ATH: Scott had 1 reception for 20 yards and 2 carries for 10 yards. Defensively, he registered 8 tackles, including 2 for loss.
Ja’Quon Griffin, 3-star DE: Griffin notched 5 tackles, including 2 for loss in Rome (Ga.) High’s first-round playoff win. He also forced a pair of quarterback hurries in the effort.

Odds and ends
- Cameron Wire missed Friday night’s game, his second game on the sidelines since reaggravating his knee injury. Wire may return to the lineup for East Ascension (La.) High School for the second round of the playoffs.
- Davin Cotton, the state’s top-ranked defensive lineman and LSU commitment, is expected to miss the entire season due to an undisclosed leg injury.
- Jaray Jenkins, a 3-star WR commitment, is expected to miss an extended period after sustaining a fractured tibia in September in Jena (La.) High’s season opener. Jenkins underwent surgery on Sept. 11 and shed his walking boot this past week.
- Nelson Jenkins, a 3-star defensive lineman, is out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Jenkins has battled hand and lower-body injuries dating back to the spring.
