When LSU had its moment in the SEC Media Days spotlight on Thursday, running back Leonard Fournette, offensive lineman Ethan Pocic and cornerback Tre’Davious White were the three players chosen to represent the team.
That raised the question of just why quarterback Brandon Harris, the team’s unquestioned starter entering the season, was not picked.
Among the Tigers’ selections, two were seniors (Pocic and White), and Fournette is a Heisman Trophy candidate who likely will be playing his final year in Baton Rouge before heading to the NFL. It’s hard to find fault in choosing that lineup, especially when Harris figures to have one more year in school.
“We didn’t need to burden him with that,” Miles told Sirius XM Radio, per a report from The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger.
So if Tigers fans were worried or simply wondering about the exclusion, there is nothing to see here.
