Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” to discuss his Bulldogs and also had some supportive remarks for LSU running back Leonard Fournette. Prescott finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting a year ago and said Fournette could going to take home the award if he keeps this pace.
“Advice to Leonard, keep it up and that trophy may be yours,” Prescott told Finebaum on Tuesday.
That’s high praise from a fellow SEC West foe. But Prescott saw first-hand how good Fournette can be. Fournette practically beat the Bulldogs by himself in Week 2. The tailback ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns in LSU’s 21-19 victory over the Bulldogs in Starkville.
Fournette is currently third in the country in rushing yards and is on pace for 2,313 yards. His 631 yards through the first three games of the season are the most for a tailback in 15 years. Fournette was listed as the heavy favorite to win the Heisman by gambling website Bovada, who listed him at 3/2 odds to take home the award.
