Marquez Beason has plans to head to Baton Rouge this weekend.
The top-100 prospect in the 2019 recruiting class and No. 5-ranked athlete is expected to make an unofficial visit to LSU on Saturday. Beason had plans to head to the Bayou last month and was previously penciled in to head to the Bayou for the team’s junior day function in March.
Beason, who measures up at 5-foot-11 and 173 pounds, was offered by LSU a year ago as a wide receiver. LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond re-offered the Bishop Dunne (Texas) product as a defensive back a few weeks ago.
The Tigers only signed one defensive back to their 2018 class — 4-star Baton Rouge product Kelvin Joseph — and with only four scholarship cornerbacks currently on the roster, cornerback remains a huge priority heading into the 2019 recruiting cycle.
