There’s bold, and then there’s this.
Avery Roberts is one of the nation’s premier inside linebacker prospects. Rated as the No. 8 prospect in the position, per the 247Sports Composite, he may be asking for a challenge that might exceed expectations.
On Twitter last night, U.S. Army All-American Bowl coach Keith Miller included LSU running back Leonard Fournette in a tweet. The tweet was advertised toward prospects that post videos and images of their workouts, but reminded them that even that might not prepare them for a clash with Fournette.
Roberts, a four-star prospect who committed to Nebraska in April, was quick to respond, and his message was a bit of a head-scratcher.
“Same thing I would do to anyone else,” the linebacker tweeted. “Tell him good night and put him to sleep.”

Roberts later deleted his tweet after it took the Twitterverse by storm.
Fournette led the nation in rushing last season and figures to be among the most prominent running backs in college football again in 2016.
The unfortunate part of all this is that LSU and Nebraska won’t be facing off anytime soon — at least with both Fournette and Roberts on their respective rosters.
For now, we’ll leave it to Twitter — and our imaginations — to picture what an actual collision between the two would actually look like.
