Energy shouldn’t be in short supply at LSU.
At least that’s how new Tigers basketball coach Will Wade sees the situation in Baton Rouge.
On Wednesday, LSU basketball’s Twitter account posted a cool video of LSU football coach Ed Orgeron greeting Wade after Wade was announced as the Tigers’ new leader. Orgeron shook Wade’s hand and congratulated the coach. Then Wade offered an interesting response.
“We may be the two highest-energy coaches in the country,” he told Orgeron.

There’s no doubt that Orgeron is energetic. His personality won over Tigers fans in short order during LSU’s run to the Citrus Bowl while he was interim coach following Les Miles’ firing.
Time will show if Wade can match Orgeron’s fire, but positive results would help his cause in the eyes of LSU fans. The Tigers are coming off a miserable 10-21 season that led school officials to part ways with coach Johnny Jones. LSU missed the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons.
Wade won 51 games in two years at VCU after replacing Shaka Smart. He also won 40 games in two seasons at Chattanooga, which was his first head coaching job.
