Odell Beckham, Jr. will be reunited with his former wide receivers coach this season.
Ex-LSU assistant Adam Henry accepted the New York Giants’ receivers job this weekend, according to a report by NJ.com‘s James Kratch.
Henry and Beckham were both at LSU from 2012-2013, during which time Beckham caught 102 passes for 1,865 yards and 10 touchdowns. The star receiver then declared for the 2014 NFL Draft, while Henry stayed on one more year before taking the San Francisco 49ers’ receivers job last season.
In late 2015, Henry discussed Beckham and fellow ex-LSU wideout Jarvis Landry’s propensity for one-handed catches.
“It probably took me a year to get used to it,” Henry told NYDailyNews.com‘s Ebenezer Samuel. “And then from there, their confidence grew. Even when (current LSU offensive coordinator) Cam Cameron came (in 2013), he’s like ‘Coach, they can’t do that.’
“I’m like, ‘Yes, they can. They’re different.'”
Henry is the first official addition to new Giants coach Bob McAdoo’s staff.
