Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly was falsely identified in a viral video that spread Saturday.
As reported by the New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard, someone close to the former LSU star and current New York Giants wide receiver is claiming that the clips that spread of an individual involved in an Atlanta nightclub fight on Friday did not involve Beckham.
“This is 100 percent not Odell,” a lawyer for Beckham told Leonard. “He was not and is not in Atlanta.”
Here’s more from Leonard’s story:
Saturday afternoon, Black Sports Online had posted a video of a man BSO identified as Beckham getting into a tussle at The Gold Room. The BSO video came from a Twitter user @SRDtv. And a second video from Twitter user @DeminoSavage appeared to show the man taking a sucker-punch in the back of the head.
BSO said a bottle girl at the Gold Room had confirmed the man in the video is Beckham. But while the man had dark skin, blonde hair and chains around his neck, it is only a Beckham imposter.
Beckham has 4,424 yards receiving with 38 touchdowns since the Giants selected him No. 12 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. He had 302 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns in four games last season.
