LSU Class of 2017 signee Seth Stewart will not be joining the Tigers this summer.
LSU head coach Ed Orgeron announced that Stewart, a 3-star offensive tackle from West Virginia, has decided not to attend LSU and could be giving up football for good.
Stewart, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound recruit, reported to Baton Rouge earlier this summer before making up his mind.
“He spent a couple of days here and decided he wanted to move on,” Orgeron said on Sunday before the start of fall camp. “We tried to get him back. Coach [Jeff] Grimes tried to recruit him back, but it’s something he didn’t want to do.”
LSU reeled in 23 players in the 2017 recruiting class. Stewart will not play for the Tigers and fellow signee, Tyler Shelvin, is expected to join the team during the second week of fall camp.
