Les Miles loves eating chicken more than he loves eating grass, and he’s made Raising Cane’s — a Baton Rouge-based fast-food company — his official go-to bird spot since 2008.
It was a match made in southern Louisiana heaven: the Tigers coach and the Tigers’ favorite hometown chain.
Tuesday, company founder Todd Graves tweeted out an image of a Raising Cane’s sign with the following message on its marquee: “THANK YOU COACH MILES FOR 12 YEARS AND GREAT MEMORIES.”

The two sides had a bit of a “dustup” in 2012 when LSU participated in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, with Miles telling USA Today he ate the competing product and “I understand the sensitivity that Todd (Graves) can have, and I as well. It’s hard on me as well.”
Both Miles and Graves showed off some comedic chops in this TV news package:
It’s unclear what happens next between the two sides, but if Miles heads off to another coaching destination, his chicken advertisement days are likely over.
