BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU bounced back from a disappointing road loss against Mississippi State with a big-time victory against Syracuse at home.
The No. 25-ranked Tigers were forced to overcome a slow start on the offensive side of the ball, but came to life late in the second quarter. In the second half, LSU turned the offensive reigns over to freshman quarterback Myles Brennan, who engineered a scoring drive before LSU turned back to Danny Etling to secure the 35-26 win.
The Tigers also welcomed starting defensive end Rashard Lawrence back to the lineup and had a healthy Derrius Guice leading the backfield. However, senior Darrel Williams was the featured back for much of the contest, especially in the second half. Freshman Tyler Taylor also got the start at middle linebacker.
