Point spread for LSU-South Carolina increases dramatically after location change
Some betting venues like LSU even more after South Carolina announced that Saturday’s game had moved from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.
The Tigers are now as high as a 19.5-point favorite in a “road” game that will be played at home, according to OddsShark.com via a tweet from Fox Sports’ Clay Travis. LSU entered Wednesday as a 13.5-point favorite to beat South Carolina in Columbia.
That is a dramatic six-point increase in just a matter of hours. South Carolina was forced to change the venue after heavy rains flooded the city of Columbia and parts of the state this week.
South Carolina has lost three of four games and is 0-3 in conference play. The Gamecocks are also 2-3 against the spread and 0-2 on the road. The 4-0 Tigers are just 1-3 against the spread and have faced it just once this season; against Auburn three weeks ago. Many sports books have taken the game off of the betting board because of the uncertainty surrounding the location and start time. The Tigers are 3-3 against the spread vs. South Carolina, but 5-0-1 straight up in the all-time series, according to OddsShark.com.
