Last week, Willie Allen made some headlines as he was reportedly blocked from transferring to TCU. But now he’s headed to another Texas school and he’ll be able to play right away.
Per Ross Dellenger of the Advocate, Allen will transfer to Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. He will be able to play right away at the junior college and can transfer back into Division-I. Allen first announced his decision to transfer from LSU earlier in June.
Allen had heard from the likes of Baylor and UCLA, in addition to TCU. Per reports, the reason Allen was barred from transferring to TCU was because the Horned Frogs made improper contact with Allen. LSU also recently lost out on a top quarterback, Justin Rogers, to TCU.
Allen was a 4-star recruit in the 2016 class but he redshirted his first year at LSU.
