Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly was a no-show during the New York Giants’ Organized Team Activity on Monday.
As reported by Dan Duggan of NJ.com, the former LSU wide receiver was not in attendance, per someone with knowledge of the situation. Duggan reported that it’s unclear why Beckham was not present Monday. It was also reported that it was unclear how many voluntary workouts Beckham skipped during the five weeks of New York’s offseason program before the OTAs. However, Duggan reported that Beckham “was not a regular participant” during that program.
New York’s next OTA is Tuesday, and Thursday’s session will be the first open to the media.
Many eyes will be on Beckham to see if he can take a step forward in his maturity next season. He had 1,367 yards receiving with 10 touchdowns last season. He has drawn attention for his sideline antics, and we’ll learn if those episodes will remain part of his profile in 2017.
The Giants finished 11-5 last season with a loss to the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round.
