According to Inside USC, Martin spoke with LSU and head coach Ed Orgeron about the Tigers’ offensive coordinator position. However, the two sides could not reach a deal.

Just last week, Martin interviewed for the Oakland Raiders head coaching job. Martin had also openly expressed interested in the Tennessee head coaching job. However, he was never formally interviewed for that position. Martin, 39, was the starting quarterback for Tennessee in its 1998 national championship season.

Martin was interviewed before the Raiders hired Jon Gruden, who was introduced on Tuesday.
Under Martin’s leadership, the Trojans had the No. 3 scoring offense in the Pac-12 this season, averaging 34.8 points per game during the regular season. USC had the No. 4-ranked rushing offense and No. 3 passing offense in the conference.
