BATON ROUGE, La. — Sexual assault allegations levied against LSU linebacker Jacob Phillips as reported in a TMZ Sports story Monday are not being pursued by the Baton Rouge Police Department, per a report from Jacques Doucet of WAFB-TV.
Doucet tweeted the news citing a source close to the case, saying the BRPD declined to pursue the allegations as the source of the claim was found to be “not credible.”

Phillips was ranked the No. 1 inside linebacker in the country in the Class of 2017, per the 247Sports composite rankings. Along with Patrick Queen and Tyler Taylor, Phillips is part of a trio of talented inside backers anchoring LSU’s thin linebacking corps in 2017 and beyond.
