Les Miles knows the end is near, according to a report by Cody Worsham of Tiger Rag.
UPDATE: Worsham’s report has since been refuted by LSU, which sent out the following message from its official Twitter account on Friday afternoon:
“Contrary to media reports, #LSU coach Les Miles has not resigned nor did he indicate he was resigning when speaking to booster group today.”
Tiger Rag initially reported that the LSU coach indicated to members of the Gridiron Club, a booster organization for LSU, that Friday would be his last meeting with the group. He also indicated that he did not expect to be coaching in the Tigers’ upcoming bowl game, per the report.
LSU (7-3, 4-3 SEC) is scheduled to host Texas A&M on Saturday. Miles’ coaching status has been very uncertain since LSU lost its last three games in a row. On Thursday, Fox Sports reporter Bruce Feldman announced he was told Miles would not be retained following this season.
