The recent news coming out of Baton Rouge, La., makes it seem more and more likely that LSU will soon fire coach Les Miles. The latest report only gives that notion further credence.
Miles will be getting the axe in a matter of days, according to FOX Sports reporter Bruce Feldman, whose message was relayed by ESPN’s Peter Burns on Twitter Thursday.
“‘I’ve heard as early as Sunday or Monday, Les Miles will be let go as the coach of LSU’ – @BruceFeldmanCFB just now on Texas/Tech pregame,” Burns tweeted.
Miles has been fielding questions about his job status all week, and on Wednesday night he found himself dealing with a number of emotional Tigers fans on what could have been his final radio show with the school.
LSU, which debuted at No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings just three weeks ago, welcomes Texas A&M to Tiger Stadium on Saturday for its regular season finale. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network).
