It turns out LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri isn’t going anywhere after all.
Mainieri is staying at LSU and will receive a substantial pay raise, per a report from The Advocate. Mainieri’s decision to stay in Baton Rouge, La., comes after reports surfaced that the storied coach had interviewed with Texas about its managing vacancy. Mainieri put the rumors to rest with a statement.

Mainieri just concluded his 10th season at LSU. He has accrued a record of 459-182-3 during that time with four College World Series appearances and a national championship in 2009. The Advocate had previously reported that Mainieri had signed an extension that would keep him at LSU through 2020.
