LSU’s 2016 team will likely bear a close resemblance to this year’s squad.
Cornerback Tre’Davious White is expected to return to the team for his senior season next year, a source told TFY Draft Insider’s Tony Pauline.
In 11 starts in 2015, White finished fifth on the team in tackles with 44, including 1.5 for loss. He also recorded a team-high seven pass breakups.
White also served as one of LSU’s punt returners, averaging 11.4 yards per return on 20 attempts, including a touchdown.
White is one of six LSU underclassmen who requested draft grades from the NFL College Advisory Committee. If White does indeed intend on returning in 2016, that will make five Tigers back with the team.
Only offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins has declared for the 2016 NFL Draft thus far.
Earlier on Thursday, defensive end Lewis Neal announced he will be back for his senior season. White and Neal follow the same path as center Ethan Pocic and defensive tackle Christian LaCouture.
Linebacker Kendell Beckwith will reportedly return for his senior campaign, too.
