LSU may allow opposing marching bands to perform at Tiger Stadium in 2016 after all.
While the controversial decision to prohibit opposing bands from performing on the playing surface is still in effect, it appears as though there’s still a possibility of that changing before the football season starts, according to a report from The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger.
“We’re still looking at this. This is still being assessed,” LSU deputy director of athletics Eddie Nunez said, according to Dellenger’s report. “This is not a dead decision. This is something we’re actively looking at, going to be meeting with risk management again. We’re going to try to do what we can to make this work. If we can, we will try to make it work. We would love to continue the pageantry.”
Nunez indicated that athletics officials plan to meet with the university’s risk management team to discuss a safer plan for the sidelines during game days.
