LSU DE Frank Herron, freshman WR Dee Anderson didn’t travel to Wisconsin for the season opener because both have been suspended, according to a report by Ross Dellenger in The Advocate. Freshman CB Saivion Smith also did not travel with the team for unknown reasons.
The report based on sources did not reveal why the two players were suspended for the season opener in Green Bay against Wisconsin. Herron is a fourth-year junior who is expected to see plenty of playing time this season once he serves the suspension.
Dellenger speculated that junior Deondre Clark and true freshman Rashard Lawrence could see more playing time in the opener because of Herron’s absence.
Anderson, a 6-foot-5 former 4-star prospect from Texas, wasn’t necessarily expected to play in the opener. He enrolled in January and participated in spring drills and is one of the more prepared members of the freshman class because of being on campus early and his talent.
