LSU defensive tackle Davon Godchaux has reportedly run into trouble.
As reported by WAFB 9 News, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested the player on false imprisonment charges. Godchaux reportedly was released Monday from a East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $3,000 bond. He also was issued a misdemeanor summons for domestic abuse battery and child endangerment, according to the report.
Here are more details from the story:
According to a police report, deputies were called out to an apartment in the 11000 block of Nicholson Drive for a domestic disturbance around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
On arrival, deputies said they found the victim in another person’s apartment claiming “she was just battered by her boyfriend.” The victim told deputies that she and Godchaux had been in a relationship for about two years and had a 10-month-old child together.
An argument allegedly began between Godchaux and the victim over an alleged infidelity and Godchaux suggested the couple separate, according to the police report. The victim told deputies she tried to leave, but Godchaux allegedly pulled her hair to keep her from the door.
As reported by WAFB 9 News, the alleged altercation led to a television being partially shattered. According to the report, Godchaux told deputies “there really was no altercation and that the victim allegedly kicked the television on purpose as they verbally argued.”
Godchaux, a junior, has 20 tackles and two sacks this season. He had nine tackles for loss and six sacks last year.
