A week before the biggest game of LSU’s season, one of its offensive lineman was arrested.
Per a report from Garland Gillen of WVUE-TV in New Orleans, freshman offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell was arrested on Sunday morning. Per the report, Campbell was arrested on Georgia Tech’s campus in Atlanta on two counts of battery.

Campbell is a freshman at LSU. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and 347 pounds and is from Ponchatoula, LA. Campbell was a 4-star recruit in the class of 2016 and the No. 6 guard in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. Per 247Sports, Campbell did take an official visit to Georgia Tech before signing with the Tigers in February. Per Gillan, Campbell’s brother plays for Georgia Tech.
LSU announced that Campbell has been suspended following the arrest.
The freshman has played in three games this season but did not dress out for the Tigers home win over Ole Miss on Oct. 22.
