LSU tailback Leonard Fournette is being held out of spring practice, but his injury doesn’t appear to be very serious.
The junior running back will likely be in the running for the Heisman Trophy race after a dazzling sophomore campaign in which he ran for 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was the heart of LSU’s offense in 2015 and will likely be a franchise tailback in the NFL in the near future.
One of the major storylines surrounding Fournette was whether or not he should sit out 2016 to preserve his body for the NFL Draft. This injury, as minor as it may be, will only add fuel to the fire of those who think Fournette should forgo his junior year in Baton Rouge, La.
