The news that LSU has fired head coach Les Miles dominated the headlines on Sunday afternoon.
But lost in that shuffle is the fact that the Tigers administration also fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron in the process, meaning that new interim coach Ed Orgeron would have to pick out a new play caller.
According to FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman, the Tigers made that decision pretty quickly. LSU TE coach Steve Ensminger is expected to take over play-calling duties as the Tigers prep for a visit from Missouri on Oct. 1.
Ensminger is in his sixth season as an assistant on the LSU staff, and is a former LSU quarterback who played for the Tigers from 1976-79. He has served as an offensive coordinator at Georgia, Texas A&M and Clemson during a storied coaching career.
