There is seemingly never a break when it comes to Les Miles’ staff at LSU, whether it involve coaches or support personnel.
Days after hiring Jabbar Juluke and Dameyune Craig, the Tigers lost director of player personnel Austin Thomas, a source told FootballScoop.
Thomas is expected to be named the new associate athletic director for Southern Cal, according to the report.
Thomas served as the assistant director of recruiting for three years with the Trojans before moving over to LSU.
This past season, Thomas was named the Director of Player Personnel of the year. That honor came as Thomas stepped into a bigger role when LSU lost numerous coaches in the final weeks leading up to National Signing Day.
Thomas is the fourth member of LSU’s coaching staff to leave the team since the Texas Bowl. Thomas joins former defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson, and wide receivers coach Tony Ball as former Tigers coaches.
Yet again, coach Les Miles has another appointment to make.
