New details have come out regarding the arrest of LSU offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell.
Per the report, a man told the Georgia Tech police that he had been punched in the head and face by two men. Campbell, whose brother plays for Georgia Tech, was one of the two men. He was arrested on two charges of battery on Sunday, Oct. 30. The other was Georgia Tech safety Jalen Johnson, who was arrested on one count of simple battery.
Campbell is in his freshman season at LSU. Campbell was 4-star guard in the class of 2016 and the No. 6 guard in the country. He is a native of Ponchatoula, La.
LSU announced that Campbell has been suspended following the arrest. The freshman has appeared in three games this season, but did not dress out in LSU’s win against Ole Miss.
The Tigers take on No. 1 Alabama on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on CBS. LSU has lost the previous five games against the Crimson Tide. Since making the head coaching change to Ed Orgeron, LSU is 3-0.
