Ja’Marr Chase made a special arrangement to make his college decision announcement on the NFL Network. And then he got bumped.
It was a move that left a bad taste in the mouth of LSU and TCU fans alike, who were anxiously anticipating the 4-star wide receiver prospect’s decision between the two schools. It had to be hurtful for Chase as well, who bumped his commitment from Sunday at The Opening to Monday to accommodate lining up his commitment with the network’s live broadcast so his family in Louisiana could see it happen live.
On Wednesday, Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith reported that the NFL Network is trying to right the situation by offering Chase another opportunity to make his announcement on their network at a future date.
“We are trying to facilitate him doing it on Total Access,” spokesman Alex Riethmiller told PFT.
There’s no word yet on if that’s an invitation Chase is open to accepting.
Earlier in the week, Chase told SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman that Chase he would return to New Orleans after The Opening and discuss his plans with his family.
Chase ranks as the No. 6 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 195 overall prospect in the Class of 2018, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
