The Giants were attempting to make a comeback in the fourth quarter against the Chargers when Beckham’s left leg got rolled up while being tackled. He left the field in tears on a cart and headed straight for the X-ray room.
A bad 2017 season continues to get worse for the Giants. Considered a contender to win the NFC East, New York is off to an 0-5 start. In addition to losing the game Sunday, the Giants also lost wide receivers Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris due to injury.
It’s unclear at this time whether Beckham needs surgery, but it is likely he will miss at least multiple weeks of action as he heals.
Prior to leaving the game, Beckham was having a typically outstanding afternoon, with 5 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown.
