Ed Orgeron, much like his predecessor Les Miles, has LSU on a roller coaster from week to week.
Sometimes that means getting thumped at Mississippi State and losing at home to Troy. Other times, that means beating Florida and Auburn in back-to-back games.
At the moment, LSU fans are happy with Orgeron. He has a 79.9 approval rating, good for sixth in the conference. That seems pretty fair, given his team lost to Troy earlier in the year.
As for what fans are saying about Orgeron, you can see their comments below.
Orgeron became LSU’s full-time coach in November after taking over on an interim basis in September following the dismissal of Les Miles. Orgeron moved quickly to retain Dave Aranda as defensive coordinator and later brought in Matt Canada as offensive coordinator. He also collected the No. 7 recruiting class for the 2017 cycle, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
The offense hasn’t looked wildly different this year, as it is ranked 71st in the country in scoring. As long as quarterback Danny Etling can stay healthy and hand off the ball to Derrius Guice, one of the country’s best running backs, LSU should not be taken lightly by anyone. Guice hasn’t exactly been healthy this year, but he’s always a threat to have a monster game, as he showed against Ole Miss by rushing for 276 yards.
In SEC Country’s previous approval poll, Orgeron had a solid rating, coming in with an 82.5 approval rating, good for sixth in the SEC. In the past month, the Tigers have seen a slip in the recruiting rankings, as they now have the No. 6 class in the SEC and the No. 16 class in the country.
Orgeron reportedly signed a five-year, $17.5 million contract with LSU. The Tigers were off this weekend as they prepare for Alabama.
