Many LSU fans voiced and displayed their support for coach Les Miles before what could be his final game with the program on Saturday. Count former LSU and NBA center Shaquille O’Neal as a member of the Miles advocates club.
O’Neal said during an interview with ESPN at Tiger Stadium that he hoped Miles would remain with the program. He said no matter what happens, Miles should be treated right.
“Whatever we do, it should be handled professionally,” O’Neal said according to The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger. “The man shouldn’t have to read on the ticker that his job is in jeopardy.”
Many analysts have criticized the way athletic director Joe Alleva has handled the situation. Alleva has not given Miles any indication of his job status, according to reports.
The Big Aristotle believes Miles’ 11-year tenured has not garnered much credit from the program.
“A lot of people want him to stay,” O’Neal said according to Dellenger. “We should show him a lot more respect. Show the some man respect.”
