Texas Tech suspended one of its best receivers for the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl against LSU on December 29.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Devin Lauderdale failed to live up to the school’s expectations for student athletes, according to Suzanne Halliburton of the Austin American-Statesman, and the junior has been suspended indefinitely.
As a result, the Red Raiders will have to face the Tigers without one of their key receivers.
Lauderdale had 639 receiving yards this season and four touchdowns, which is second to Texas Tech’s leading receiver, Jakeem Grant, so the Red Raiders will feel his absence in the matchup against Tigers.
Although LSU lost three of its final four games of the regular season, Lauderdale’s absence increases the Tigers’ odds of closing out 2015 with a win.
